Possible Global Futures

Watching the daily news one can quickly become discouraged about our global future.
Most notably is the recent and ongoing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Yet again another big corporation not taking precautionary measures to avoid what surely is a preventable catastrophe. Equally as shameful is their not taking valid and effective responsible action after creating such a disaster.
In the Caribbean, around the Virgin Islands you can scuba dive and sit on the ocean floor just 30 to 40 feet below the surface of the water. You can sit in the sand, as I have, and watch the ocean world go by. It’s a beautiful and busy place with turtles, rays, barracudas and other sea life going about their business. Most impressive is the apparently endless species of fish with all the colors of the rainbow. To me it seems full of life, all over the place.
So, having this insight, its been especially difficult for those of us connected to the ocean with this perspective to see the toxic oil spew into this ocean world.
It is important to try to learn from these mistakes and to take action as citizens of this planet to prevent this type of thing from ever happening again. That is our responsibility.
One place to start might be to have all offshore oil drilling executives come sit on the bottom of the ocean with me for a while. Spend some time on the sand at 40 feet below and see the world that they have to be aware of and that we all are a part of. From the coral to the fish, they are as dependent on us, as we are on them for our lives and our future.
If any corporations are interested in this, please contact me at Ecosphere Net at ejwensing@ecosphere.net . We would be happy to arrange this experience and prove this reality for you in the United States Virgin Islands.

What a beautiful picture you have painted for our minds. It's a shame that many do not take the time to appreciate the natural resources and the bountiful beauty in all that surrounds us. Such a wonderful offer you have made, hopefully corporations will take you up on it.
